Springfield Vision Care Associates offers comprehensive eye care for the entire family.
What separates us from other eye care providers? We perform a detailed computer-assisted analysis of your eyes' focusing ability, muscle coordination, and internal and external health. Our diagnostic instruments are the latest in technology, allowing us to characterize your peripheral vision, create a topographical map of your eye curvature, and even photograph the inside of your eye. Most importantly, we listen to you in order to provide optimal solutions for your individual needs.

Low Vision Services
Low vision is a term used to describe vision that is inadequate for one's needs. It prevents or interferes with a person's normal activities. Low vision cannot be improved with conventional optometric or surgical services. Common causes of low vision are: Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Traumatic Injury, and Stroke. A low vision evaluation and examination consists of a discussion of the patient's eye and health history, an assessment of visual function and a recommendation of low vision care options. These options include: Prescription glasses with filters to reduce glare and increase contrast, telescopes, prisms, hand held and stand magnifiers, closed circuit televisions (CCTV's.) Go to http://www.visiontechnology.com/ for more information. These visual aids can drastically improve ones functional vision and improve their quality of life.

Ocular Disease Management

All our doctors are certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease including glaucoma. They prescribe certain topical medications and perform minor therapeutic procedures such as superficial foreign body removal, epilation, punctal occlusion, and punctal dilation and irrigation.
